Tora's WW2 1/2nd GR Issue kukri is based on an actual 1/2nd GR WW2 kukri owned by Simon in his personal collection. This kukri is one of the most photographed kukris in WW2 and was made very famous by Lalbahadur Thapa when he won his V.C. at Ross-Ez-Zouai in April 1943, when he used his kukri in taking that position.

To see Lalbahadure Thapa VC with his 1/2nd Kukri please view this link

The Kukri has a 32cm long blade and rough weight guideline approx 480-550 grams, the handle is wood with a stick tang, and is housed in a military scabbard with military frogs, and includes Tinder Pouch (no longer supplied with the insert) with 8.5cm Chakmak & Karda utility knives. It has a weight guidance of 490-560g.

Tora kukri are traditional handmade kukri, made in Nepal, and not the usual export and tourist kukri found on many other websites. Tora strives to make kukri to the traditional specifications as per the original models.

For an easy way to sharpen your kukri please watch this video.

We strongly recommend that the wooden parts on all kukri are treated with the appropriate oil and wood treatment prior to use.

Please note that because all of our kukri are hand-made, variances in size, weight, wood colour, chakmak & karda style etc may well occur.

You must be 18 yrs and over to purchase any knife or sword.

Please note that the kukri are now sent directly from Nepal.

This blade looks so beautiful and authentic.Dan (24 Mar 2016, 02:25)

Solid Blade for Small Hands

Weight, balance and shape for a great mix of slicer and chopper, which is exactly what a kukri is supposed to be. Only draw back you may notice is that the handle is slightly smaller than most of Tora's other kukri, which is not such a bad thing, but personally (as somebody with medium sized hands) it does feel less controllable than other models. This is, however, easily fixed with a layer of paracord. And it goes without saying that this Kukri displays the same quality and usability as we have come to expect from all Tora blades.Brad (21 Mar 2016, 10:19)
