A new addition to Tora's WW2 Kukri is this fantastic kukri based on a kukri used by Lt Col Macdonald. Lt Col Macdonald joined the 2/5th Gurkhas in Mesopotania in WW1. In between WW1 and WW2 he saw action in Waziristan where at Ahni Tangi Battle on Jan 14th 1920, the 2/5th Gurkhas suffered 90 casualties and fierce hand to hand fighting took place. By WW2 he was a Major and early in WW2 he raised the 4/5th Gurkhas becoming a Lt Col where his regiment obtained an excellent reputation in Burma fighting the Japanese.
Lt Col Macdonald's kukri has a 31.5cm long blade and a rough weight guideline of 425-500g. It has a stick tang horn handle with steel fittings and decoration and and comes with a military scabbard and military frogs with chakmak & karda utility knives. Please note that the tinder pouch no longer comes with the insert.

Tora kukri are traditional handmade kukri, made in Nepal, and not the usual export and tourist kukri found on many other websites. Tora strives to make kukri to the traditional specifications as per the original models.
For an easy way to sharpen your kukri please watch this video.
We strongly recommend that the wooden parts on all kukri are treated with the appropriate oil and wood treatment prior to use.
Please note that because all of our kukri are hand-made, variances in size, weight, wood colour, chakmak & karda style etc may well occur. You must be 18 yrs and over to purchase any knife or sword.
