Product Information
Specification

Please note - you are placing a pre-order for this kukri.

Tora's Havildar kukri is based on a Kukri carried by a Havildar (Sergeant) in the Gurkhas during the Burma campaign in WW2. His kukri was most likey made by the regimental or battalion armourer to the Havildar's requirement, but also so that it corresponded to Official pattern carry.

Tora kukri are traditional handmade kukri, made in Nepal, and not the usual 'Khukuri House' export and tourist kukri. Tora strives to make kukri to the traditional specification of the olden style kukri. The Tora Havildar kukri generally has a 32cm long blade, with a belly of 6cm and a rough weight guideline of 525-600 grams. It has a stick tang horn handle and comes with a military scabbard and military frogs with chakmak & karda utility knives.

For an easy way to sharpen your kukri please use this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vplOsEUgwIg

We strongly recommend that the wooden parts on all kukri are treated with the appropriate oil and wood treatment prior to use.

Please note that because all of our kukri are hand-made, variances in size, weight, wood colour etc may well occur. You must be 18 yrs and over to purchase any knife or sword.

Please note that the kukri are now sent directly from Nepal.

Where craft meets art.

I just received my Havildar kukri. I had previous bought an Ex-Gurka and returned it because of weight and finishing. The Tora Havildar is absolutely beautiful, solid, light well balanced. When holding it, it just wants to chop something. Worth every penny. The EX-Gurka felt like a brick, and the thought of using it for an extended period made my arm ache. The Tora blade is a work of the art and function. The hollow grind, the edge, the spine and the polish is superb. Weight is an important issue. To make something strong and light and functional is where craft meets art. Thinking about getting another. (Sep 24 2017, 20:46 PM)

This knife is a joy to hold in the hand. It is exquisitely balanced and well made. The heat treating on the metal is very good and the blade takes and holds an edge very well. I highly recommend this knife for up to medium duty work around the camp and for self defense. (Aug 07 2014, 00:45 AM)

the Tora Havildar Kukri is Superb

Both this knife and scabbard are well made. The quality is better than Kukris from other companies that I have purchased. This is a wonderfully well balanced knife and simply feel "right" in your hand. The heat treatment is superb. The knife is well balanced and fits my hand very well. I would definitely recommend this Kukri as both as a useful tool and as a weapon if necessary. Highly recommend and I fully intend to purchase more Tora Blades in the future. (Aug 03 2014, 18:22 PM)
