Please note - you are placing a pre-order for this kukri.

This is an outstanding WW1 Officers Angkhola kukri (single fullered) probably made just before WW1. It is a kukri of the highest quality reproduced by Tora. Our kukri smiths have exceeded themselves and recreated and relearned old skills to produce the very best of kukri from that period which we believe was made in the Kumaon area. Officers of that period had orderly's to make camp for them or in the jungle bashas. This kukri would have been an excellent side arm for an officer on operations.
The Kukri has a 38cm long blade with a single fuller (angkhola) with a belly depth of 6.3cm, and it has a rough weight guideline approx 680-750 grams, the handle is Buffalo horn with a stick tang, and is housed in a military scabbard with military frogs and includes Tinder Pouch with Chakmak and Karda utility knives.

Tora kukri are traditional handmade kukri, made in Nepal, and not the usual export and tourist kukri found on many other websites. Tora strives to make kukri to the traditional specifications as per the original models.

For an easy way to sharpen your kukri please use this link.

We strongly recommend that the wooden parts on all kukri are treated with the appropriate oil and wood treatment prior to use.

Please note that because all of our kukri are hand-made, variances in size, weight, wood colour, chakmak & karda style etc may well occur. You must be 18 yrs and over to purchase any knife or sword.

Please note that the kukri are now sent directly from Nepal.

‘The Second Step’ by Adrian Hayter; which covers his experiences as Gurkha Officer in the 2/2nd GR in from 1934 to the Malayan Emergency
“My orderly came and took my rifle and equipment for cleaning, but first he drew the kukhri from its scabbard and laid it on my bed. This was my personnel weapon and stayed in my tent, and having dried the scabbard he would return the blade to it and hang it on my bunk…..There was not time to recall my orderly to bring my rifle and equipment, so grabbing the naked kukhri lying on the bed I ran between the tent ropes tightening in the rain, towards the Cavalry lines…..but all I carried was a naked kukhri, and soon left them (weapon laden) Gurkhas behind….I raised the kukhri and charged, and they sprang aside to avoid the slashing blade….He turned and clubbing his rifle made a desperate swipe at my head, but I caught the butt in my left hand and raised the kukhri….The bent neck was in an ideal position for the killing stroke."
